EUROPEAN UNION EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR PHOTO CONTEST

Santo Domingo, R.D.- Santo Domingo, R.D.- The Delegation of the European Union in the country and the Ministry of Women extend the deadline for receiving proposals to the II National Photography Contest “Equals behind the Objective” until February 26 with the intention to offer more time in the preparation and presentation of contestants.

The call for the II National Photography Contest “Equals behind the Objective”, is held within the framework of International Women’s Day in order to raise awareness among the Dominican population in terms of gender equality.

The participants must communicate the image of an enterprising woman, who has managed to enter the world of work and/or transform her socioeconomic environment thanks to her initiative, leadership, creativity, and commitment.

Whether as teachers or entrepreneurs, farmers or judges, merchants or doctors, politicians or scientists, mothers or police officers, women make an extraordinary contribution to our society in many ways, visible and invisible.

The winner of the contest will be announced and awarded at an event organized by the Delegation of the European Union and the Ministry of Women on March 6, 2019, within the framework of the celebration of International Women’s Day.

Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) photographs to the contest, which must be accompanied by a brief description of each work presented and may compete among the different categories:

  • Category 1
    • Professionals or amateurs of photography.
    • Dominicans or foreigners residing and with legal domicile in the Dominican Republic.
    • With ages between 18 and 35 years old
  • Category 2
    • Young amateur photographers.
    • Dominicans or foreigners residing and with legal domicile in the Dominican Republic.
    • With ages between 13 and 17 years old
  • Category 3
    • Professionals or amateurs of photography.
    • Dominicans or foreigners residing and with legal domicile in the Dominican Republic.
    • Over 35 years of age
