AMERICAN AIRLINES ANNOUNCES INCREASED FREQUENCIES BETWEEN MIAMI AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC DURING SUMMER 2019

Two daily flights will be added to the existing frequencies from Puerto Plata and Punta Cana to Miami and will operate from June 6, 2019

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic- American Airlines today announced that for next summer 2019, it will introduce more daily flights between Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata and Miami International Airport ( MINE).

The flights will be on sale from November 19 and begin on June 6, 2019. The additional frequencies from Puerto Plata and Punta Cana will be operated with a Boeing 737-800, and will be valid until August 19, 2019.

With these additions during the summer, American will be operating a total of two daily flights on the Puerto Plata-Miami route, and three daily flights on the Punta Cana-Miami route. American currently offers 78 weekly flights from the country, connecting Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago and Puerto Plata with the airline’s hubs in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York (JFK) and Philadelphia, and with Boston .

“This year we have continued with our growth in the country, recently announcing new routes between the United States and Santo Domingo and soon during the Christmas season we will be increasing our service from several of our Dominican destinations to Miami,” said Oliver Bojos, general director of American Airlines for the Dominican Republic, Haiti, St. Maarten and Bermuda. “We have had a year of many achievements in the country and we are proud to continue with this momentum in 2019, proof of our commitment to the Dominican Republic and to continue developing the tourism industry in the country.”
