Making use of EMUI 9.0, HUAWEI Mate 20 series adds gestures as an option for navigation. Instead of pressing buttons, you can intuitively control the device with just a swipe. And since gestures can completely replace navigation bar functionality, the new mode removes the virtual frame at the bottom of the screen to give users even more screen space available for use.
User friendly gestures
Gestures not only free up screen space, they’re also much more natural to use. To go to the home screen, swipe up from the bottom; to access the multitasking interface, swipe up from the bottom and pause; and to return, swipe in from either edge of the screen. That’s right: you can swipe left or right towards the middle of the screen to go back, so whether you’re left-handed, right-handed, or ambidextrous, you’ll love it.
More Tips
With gestures enabled, you can also open Google Assistant by swiping up from any of the bottom corners of the screen. Quite convenient!
To set it up: Go to Settings >> System > System> Navigation > >Settings under Gestures > >Enable Google Assistant
Of course, you can also use other navigation modes. HUAWEI Mate 20 series supports gestures, three-key navigation and deck navigation. It’s about giving consumers more choice.
