The fifth version of the Gildan Glow Run will be held on November 17 on Avenida España
Santo Domingo.– The multinational Gildan announced the fifth edition of its initiative Gildan Glow Run, a race/walk that it carries out every year in favor of social welfare institutions, with the 6 schools that the company sponsors in the municipality of Guerra being the beneficiaries in this 2018.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 17 in the “Fun Run” modality, traveling 5 kilometers along Avenida España, departing from the San Soucí terminal, where internal collaborators, family members, community groups and strategic partners will meet. to promote integration, an active life and raise funds for a good cause.
“A commitment to building strong communities is part of our corporate citizenship principles. Through activities such as the Glow Run, we make a contribution and promote awareness of issues related to vulnerable children, education, health and access to decent living conditions that the people around us deserve,” said Juan Carlos Contreras, Vice President and Country Manager of Gildan.
The Arcadia Reyes, Cleotilde Castillo, Apolinar Concepción, Tomás Hernández Franco, Basilio Frías and the Eugenio de Jesús Marcano polytechnic schools will be the educational centers that will receive the funds, with which they will solve some of the priority needs they have.
Juan José Pérez Bell, Regional Manager of Communications and Social Responsibility of the company, highlighted the contributions that Gildan makes to Dominican society, pointing out that only through this race/walk more than 7 million pesos have been delivered to institutions such as the Dominican Association of Rehabilitation, in its subsidiaries of Guerra and San Pedro de Macorís, the Remar Foundation and the Hogar Escuela Caridad Misionera.
